Ms. Candi N. Smiley has over 17 years of legal experience focused on regulatory investigations, including seven (7) years in Title IX Compliance. She began her career in Title IX at Howard University as a Title IX Director. She currently works for the University of California, Los Angeles as a Deputy Title IX Director.

Ms. Smiley has conducted and overseen countless Title IX Investigations, mentored high-level administrators through state and federal agency investigations and drafted policies and procedures. She has created the curriculum for and facilitated hundreds of trainings and workshops for students, faculty and staff, including the NCAA required Sexual Violence Prevention training for student- athletes and athletic staff.

Ms. Smiley earned her Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
