Dr. Jason Wersland is the inventor of Theragun and Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of Therabody. Actively involved in the company’s research and development process, Dr. Jason has been instrumental in driving the progression of Theragun through 6 generations and in developing the brand’s full ecosystem of award-winning products, content and services. Thereabody finished 2023 having launched 10 new products and earning 34 awards including Fast Company 2023 World Changing Ideas, TIME 2023 Best Inventions, Popular Science Best of What's New Awards 2023, and more.

The idea for the category-defining percussive therapy device came to the then-practicing chiropractor after a traumatic freeway accident left him in debilitating pain that garnered pain management recommendations that included only prescription medicine or surgery. The device not only helped Dr. Jason relieve his own pain, but later helped a patient of Dr. Jason’s alleviate pain from a separate incident, as well.

Dr. Jason has dedicated his life to helping people take control of their health and well-being and he believes everybody should have access to cutting-edge therapies that can help improve both their lives as individuals and create healthier communities. He understands that regardless of ability and how people use their bodies, pain is a universal language, and that fact motivates him to continue inventing and perfecting technologies and products that help people get out of pain and keep moving.
