Samantha Mewis is Editor-in-Chief of The Women’s Game, part of the Men in Blazers Media Network. Mewis leads all women’s soccer coverage, overseeing all content output across its broad distribution platform. She hosts two weekly digi-casts – Good Vibes FC with co-hosts and former teammates Becky Sauerbrunn and Lynn Williams, and “Friendlies” where she interviews the biggest names in global Women’s soccer.

Mewis was a champion at all levels during her playing career. A UCLA alum, Mewis led the Bruins to the 2013 national championship in her junior year. Mewis was drafted by the Western New York Flash in 2015, starting all 20 regular-season games as a rookie. In 2016, she helped the Cinderella team win the league championship by scoring crucial goals in both the semis and the final. After the team relocated to North Carolina becoming the Courage, Sam led the team the 2017, 2018, and 2019 NWSL Shields and 2018 and 2019 NWSL Championships.

Mewis' career pinnacle was winning the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with the USWNT. She was also named the #1 Player in the World by ESPNFC in 2021 during her time with Manchester City. Mewis and her older sister, Kristie, are Bronze medalists from the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Off the pitch, Mewis worked with her teammates to lead the USWNTPA fight for equal pay.
