Sara Germano joined Sportico in 2026 with more than a decade of experience covering the global sports industry. Her reporting has spanned four continents, seven Olympic Games, the World Cup, and many other championship events. Over her career, she was the first to break the news of a women’s revolt at Nike, profiled leading sports figures from John Henry to Sabrina Ionescu, and covered the influx of private equity and technology as revolutionary forces shaping sports today.

Previously, Sara worked at The Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and The Information. Earlier in her career she reported on personal finance, the retail industry, and was a foreign correspondent in Berlin. She earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Fordham University.
